Who is responsible
Hiveview is the brand used for this website. Brian Hay currently operates it and is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Incorporation of the proposed Hiveview company is in progress. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@hiveview.co.uk.
What this notice covers
This notice covers browsing the public website, exploring the fictional demo, contacting us and requesting access. It is not a substitute for the specific information and agreements needed to use a private family workspace or connect an external integration.
Browsing and the demo
Our website host, Vercel, processes connection and technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses and request information. We use this processing to operate the website and investigate errors or misuse.
The public demo runs with fictional information in your browser. Its changes reset on reload and are not written to the private family database. If you download a demo report, the report information is sent to our website server to produce the download. Please use fictional information only.
Contacting us
The contact buttons open your own email app; they do not submit a website form. If you send an email, we receive your email address, name if supplied and message. IONOS provides the Hiveview mailboxes. Your own email provider also processes the message under its terms.
We use enquiry information to respond, arrange a walkthrough and handle the request you make. Please keep account numbers, financial documents and sensitive family details out of an initial enquiry.
Sign-in
Requesting a secure link sends your email address to our authentication service, Supabase, to provide access to your existing authorised account. Authentication cookies are used when you sign in to maintain the session. The public demo does not require an account.
Why we use information
We rely on legitimate interests to run and protect the website and respond to general enquiries, considering your rights and expectations. When you ask us to take steps towards a service agreement, we use the information needed for that request. We do not treat an enquiry as permission to send unrelated marketing.
Cookies and storage
The public website code does not currently include advertising trackers or an optional analytics service. Sign-in uses cookies needed for authentication. Your browser lets you manage cookies; blocking authentication cookies can prevent private workspace sign-in. We will update this notice and provide appropriate choices before introducing optional tracking.
Service providers and retention
Website hosting, email and authentication providers process information needed for their respective services. Provider infrastructure may involve processing outside the UK. You can ask us for details of the providers and arrangements relevant to your request.
We retain correspondence while dealing with the enquiry and for any further period needed for a continuing relationship, resolving a dispute or meeting a legal obligation. Technical records follow the relevant service provider’s retention settings. Contact us if you need the retention information for your particular enquiry.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity. If we rely on consent for a particular activity, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Email hello@hiveview.co.uk to make a request or raise a concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will revise this notice when the operator, website or relevant processing changes and show the new date here.
